Jean A. Dorcelien

Founder

My parents have always taught me that a life of service benefits both the giver and the receiver. Serving others is the highest honor for me, inspired by the values instilled by my family and faith. My father, who emigrated from Haiti to South Florida in the early 1900s, worked hard to bring us to America and emphasized the importance of hard work and fairness. My mother reinforced the idea that community service is a paramount responsibility. This sense of duty led me to various acts of service, from helping the less fortunate to volunteering as a Guardian Ad Litem, where I witnessed the impact of our involvement on families in need. Guided by Mother Teresa's prayer, I believe that the essence of service brings peace and that serving humanity is both a privilege and a source of profound gratitude in my life.
